Cityscape

Fly buzzes around the
sweet coffee cup….
concrete steps hurry by
and vendors they call you
for a meal in between,
you collide to  catch the sky

By the pastures of their pain and passion
speeds the train inside your brain
And you lift up your eyes to the
hoarding lights
and see them drop as rain..

The city wind cuts through the skyscrapers,
drying your tears so fast…
smiles they fade in lost romance
and cars go honking  past..

when you lean by the lamppost
to light a cigarette
and scream your smoke out loud
the smart phone beeps
with techno beats
and reminds the void around…

Run over
like the homeless cat,
limps your dream
through the mid-night streets,
floats your loneliness
over the hard liquor  ice
the jazz band makes it bright…

peak into the rat hole
at the end of the day
some useless mails
and stale breads stay…
your lover smells
In old blankets
And his gifted doll
Tries escape….
You wake up
In the dark with cold wild sweat
To realize
You are another dot
in the honey comb of your cityscape……
